Selva is the daughter of the last Ottoman pasha of Turkey, defender of tradition and orthodoxy. She could have any man, but she only has eyes for Rafo, a young Jewish man, son of the court doctor. Despite the opposition of their families, who do not approve of the union of two worlds so remotely different, the couple decides to get married in secret and flee to Paris to start a new life. However, when the Nazis occupy France, their future plans are cut short. While Turkey tries not to be dragged into the war, Selva and Rafo fight to stay safe.
